( ) This is part of a series. It assumes you have read the previous books and know how Miss Julia and Lloyd are related. I hadn't read the prior books, so I looked here at the information on the prior books to get it straight what the relationship was. Late in the book Mr. Tuttle comments on how so many things went Miss Julia's way. She found the thieves, some of her friends jewelry when the odds were so great against it. It reminded me of an episode of Stargate: SG1 where they are doing a show within a show. They are reviewing a TV script and one of the characters comments on how the main people are saved: Isn't that awfully convenient? To which the writer explains: we will just have the lead say, 'boy that was convenient' and it will be fine. The book is cute and funny. The very proper Miss Julia has to - gasp - shop at Target. I previously read “Miss Julia Delivers the Goods,” which was my introduction to the character of Miss Julia and author Ann B. Ross. Miss Julia is delightful. She’s the definition of optimism, busy body, and adventurous, blended into one creative, fun-filled, whimsical, well-meaning woman who will always move “heaven and earth” to satisfy her curiosity and uphold promises to herself and her friends. Who could ask for more? Open the covers, step inside, and have a great time! Okay, this book I enjoyed. I've been swinging back and forth on Miss Julia. I like the characters but get a little tired of the TSTL things that Miss Julia sometimes does, for no known reason. I also don't know why she insists that everything she does doesn't need to be shared with anyone except Lilian. In this book only Miss Julia and Lloyd are center stage, although they take along Etta Mae Wiggins. They are off to search for the crooks who broke into houses all over town stealing jewelry, including getting away with Miss Julia's wedding and engagement rings. The chase takes them to Florida where they hire a friend of Mr. Pickens who doesn't seem to know what hit him and will probably never be the same as a result! Fast paced and with interesting twists this one will get me into the next book in the series. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
