A woman gets a new perspective on her own life after an enlightening butter coffee chat with an elderly man.

Until I read Lost Lake, I guess I won’t know for certain but this prequel didn’t feel entirely necessary, it seemed like it would have been possible to just weave a sum up of this novella into the actual novel. I’d imagine you could go ahead with Lost Lake pretty easily without having read this, still, this is an engaging enough read if you’re in the mood for something very short. ( )

A bit of background on Kate before she and her daughter, Devon, left their home for the camp at Lost lake. ( )

The Story:

Super short prequel to Lost Lake. Honestly I don’t have any strong feelings about it however that would probably be different if I read this closer to the time I read Lost Lake. This is the drawback to a massive TBR.

mini-story

Way too short. But good.
I am required to type more words so here they are. So very annoying! Ugh. ( )
