Willow Cavanaugh would be happy if she never saw Nick Hamilton again. Sure, they had a short-lived fling many years ago, but now he's back and acting like he wants a second chance. But Willow knows he's way too much of a playboy to want to settle down with one woman. Plus, she's got her heart set on a piece of real estate for her catering business that it turns out Nick owns... Nick may be at the top of his game, but all he really seems to want is Willow. When he offers to sell Willow his commercial space if she agrees to a series of dates with him, jumping back into bed after each one seems like an inevitability. But what about when real feelings get involved?… (mere)

The 2nd story in the “Game for It” series by Karen Erickson, features Willow Cavanaugh, Sheridan Harper’s best friend, and Nick Hamilton, Jared Quinn’s best friend. Nick and Willow briefly dated when she was 19 and Nick was about to begin his professional football career with the San Jose Hawks. Now, 6 years later, he’s back in her life and he wants her back.

Willow wants to rent some commercial space that Nick owns and he agrees – if Willow will go out with him on 8 dates. Willow tries to push Nick away but the attraction is just too strong and she’s falling all over again…trying to keep him from breaking her heart again.

Honestly, this book was not as good as the first in the series. You had to admire Nick’s persistence and how much he wanted her back but Willow acted like a spoiled brat for most of the book and after a while you just wanted Nick to move on.

Willow Cavanaugh has been trying to break out of the ‘rich girl’ mold for years now. She started what has become a quickly growing catering business, and is delighted that she’s on the verge of expanding. Read More ( )

3.5 stars. My only reason for not giving this book 4 stars is Willow was a ginormous b!tch, and while I kind of understand why, she even said in the book that she needed to let the past go, but she was still a b!tch to Nick anyway. Either she wanted to give him a chance or she didn't, and when they finally had it all out on the table, and she didn't want to believe his story about her father, she told him to leave, then got pissed because he did leave. I think Nick should have made her come get him instead of going to her in Vegas. The bratty, rich girl with the hair extension company was funny though. Loved that she wasn't afraid to tell her dad that the company was lame, and the name made no sense, which made it funny. ( )
