Third volume in the Nrààk Confederation Series: Captain Mark Sterling had been allowed to return to Earth by the Nrààk after helping them defeat and kill their overlords, the Nàsúwårna. He had almost convinced himself that the Nàsúwårna were truly gone when they invaded first his dreams and then his waking hours. The Nàsúwårna demanded that he go to Seusae, the home world of the Seeshuse, now a subject race of the Nrààk. He was to meet Suura, who had led his people in fighting the Nrààk over five lifetimes. The Nàsúwårna wouldn't explain why he had to go, but Mark's dread grew as he approached the planet, as he sensed that Suura was ensnared by his new allies, the Ékésyédà, and as he sensed what the Ékésyédà truly were.(Volume 1: An Orange Sherbet Sun in a Latte Sky ----- Volume 2: Blood Red Petals Ankle Deep)… (mere)

This book is for the ones who love science fiction literature and let their mind fly through stars, planets and other civilizations. You’ll assist to strange battles between species and you’ll meet the humans Mark & Elizabeth.

Here are some quotes I like:
“My heart and your heart have always spoken the same language.”
“Speak from your heart. I’m sure that would be in the best interests of the people.”
“The perfect song will sing itself, celebrate itself, held in the arms, held in the heart of the one.”
“The one will come. He will make order out of disorder.”
“But if he fails, the one who may not fail
But if he forgets, the one who may not forget,
But if he dies, the one who may not die,
It is the end, the end, the end of Everything.” ( )

He was naked in a desert.
He was stretched out with his wrists and ankles lashed to stakes like a sadist’s version of da Vinci's Vitruvian Man.
He was naked with sand up his butt, and two suns were burning holes through his eyelids.
The glaring desert morphed into glaring exam room. He was strapped down on an examination table now, but he was still naked.
Great-aunt Claire looked him over and shook her head. She wore a crisp, white gown with a small, tasteful caduceus embroidered above the left breast, but her eyes were still twin welding torches.

He squared his shoulders, and noted his uniform needed pressing. They turned a corner, and far ahead, down one of the sterile halls designed by someone haunted by Escher, he saw a tiny figure dressed in red, in red silk perhaps, turn a corner and disappear.
It was actually lovely outside, and this child-bearing had finally driven Çré insane. They had landed beside the great lake ·Riu:ru near where the river ˙E:o flowed in to loose itself. The reeds were motionless in the dawn calm as golden creatures glided just beneath the surface.
The child would be “born” soon. He didn’t know how precisely it would be…accomplished. There had been three births in all years of his life, and he had rejected all knowledge of how it was done. It was not something Uun chatted about in any case.
He could still hear Çré shrieking his name, but that soon faded. It was going to be a lovely day. Bathing in the lake had made his flesh more lustrous than ever.
He examined the reflection of his slender fingers and elegant torso in the mirror of the lake. Çré said he was vain, but wasn't it silly not to acknowledge beauty? His fingers were absolutely transparent at the tips.
He sat on a black griddle with Saónà and Kéélé, and told three basking spiders a tale of antique ladies and gray malevolence as they hurtled into Féwàà space.
