It shows the theme of a true princess who treats people with kindness. In the story, a girl named Sofia is invited to a royal slumber party with a girl named Amber. She invites her friends from the village, but they don't act like princesses. Amber gets annoyed, so Sofia tells her friends to fit in with Amber. Her friends decide to leave because they thought that Sofia didn't like them for who they were. Sofia goes back to get them, and Amber joins. This story is good to show the theme of kindness. ( ) At the beginning of the book, I was turned off by the telling, but I think it was written that way so that children could picture things more easily. Other than that, this book was amazing and I would recommend it to children, though adults would enjoy it too. The illustrations really helped to draw an emotional response from me. The dialogue was sometimes guarded, but the expressions on the character's faces showed their true feelings. I felt for Sophia, who wanted her new sister and her old friends to get along. She wasn't trying to be mean to her old friends. I felt sorry for the old friends because they were just being themselves. I actually got watery-eyed reading this book. I wasn't sure what would happen and I hoped that Sophia would figure out what to do before it was too late. It took her a while, but she finally did. In the book, Sophia has a sleepover party. Her sister and princess friends do not understand why Sophie invited commoners. They aren't outwardly mean but they do tell Sophia that her friends do not belong. Desperate to make her friends fit in, she gives them makeover. This makes the girls feel really good about themselves. Later on, one of the girls knocks over a fountain and stains one of the princesses dress. Sophia tells her friends they need to act more like princesses. After a while, her friends become sad, because they are not able to be themselves. They leave. Sophia talks to her mom who tells her that she should like her friends for who they are. Sophie is able to get her friends to come back. Eventually, the princess decide to accept the friends rather than be bored, and they have a wonderful sleepover. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
