Thriller

Been a while since I finished an entire book in a day, but I didn't have much to do yesterday and because of the cold we were supposed to save on electricity so it was a good idea to just read.

I liked this series because it was solid the entire way through. The plot is ridiculous, but it was that way from the start, there's never really a moment where it you go "oh it has jumped the shark now", you had to sort of accept it from the first page.

I do think Anders is good with suspense and even though the writing isn't Nobel prize worthy he is very good at picking the right words at the right moment. I thought about that when Becca mentions that Sammers has "confided" in her, because it says sooo much about that relationship at that point. So while the prose is hardly flowing I think it does exactly what it aims to do.

However he definitely writes this as a movie and the amount of "fade to black" that happens in this particular book was way too many. HP is gonna have permanent brain damage after all this. ( )

Not much to add to my reviews of the two earlier books in the series; once agin fast paced, very complex plotting but the villain becomes obvious very early on and the denouement is fairly predictable. I am not likely to return to this author. ( )

De la Motten trilogian viimeinen osa on jännittävä kuvaus kaiken kattavasta pelistä, jossa yksi ihminen on vain pieni marionetti. HP ja hänen sisarensa Rebecca ovat tietämättään pelin pelaajia. Kirjassa annetaan ymmärtää, että suuri osa erikoisista tapahtumista (murhat, rikokset, tietoturvaongelmat, politiikka jne.) ovat pelin junailemia tapahtumia.

Kirja on rakennettu ovelasti ja salaliittoteoriat pyörivät lukijankin päässä. Epäily päähenkilön (HP) paranoiasta hiipii myös mieleen. Loppu oli taitavsti rakennettu. ( )
