This 2008 book is a treasure trove of information on the uniforms, equipment and personal weapons of the Allied Forces in World War 2. The book contains full chapters on American, British, and French forces, as well as smaller sections on British Commonwealth troops such as the Canadians, Australians, and Indians. There are also sections on the Belgians, Dutch, and Poles.

Each chapter contains either historical (mostly black and white) photographs of the itrems being discussed, or contemporary color pictures of examples of the items in modern museums. the fullest chapters are on the American and British forces.

The price of $50 is fairly steep, but the coverage is unequaled. No one book on this subject will provide all the information a student of World War 2 needs, but if one can only buy one book, this is the book to buy! ( )
