I liked this book for three reasons. First, the language of this book is very descriptive, patterned and clear. It is a fun book to follow. For example, it includes alliterations such as "snakes snake, ducks duck, lookers look, and sometimes I get so summery sweaty..." Cite words are also used and some are even defined. For example, the word dump is shown as the trash, and other cite words/road words and their symbols are shown like "slow and stop and bump." I also enjoyed the writing of this picture book. It is extremely engaging, organized and it flows very well. Each page has a similar pattern where the main character will find things to collect and all the members of her family will say something. Lastly, I really enjoyed the main idea of this book. The big idea is adventure with family. I think that the curiosity of the main character in finding items and collecting them for her memories is a great idea. ( )

I loved this book; it was adorable! I enjoyed reading this book for many reasons however, here are a few. I loved the story line and the plot. The author did an amazing job organizing the story and making it flow. It was very easy to follow. As the family was walking down “Rambling Road” like they usually do, they find all kinds of gadgets along the way. As they experience all four seasons and different objects in each. For example, as the family was walking, the mother says, “Look! A sparrow on a nest!” They each find something interesting to look at and or take home.
Another aspect about this book that I loved was the illustrations. They were extremely descriptive and they mirrored the text perfectly. Without reading the words, one could look at the pictures and comprehend what was going on in the story. The illustrations enhance the story and make it more interesting as well.
This book describes the importance of getting outside with family and experiencing new areas. Using your imagination is an important part of learning. ( )
