I absolutely loved this book. Once i picked it up, i couldn't put it back down.I got hooked from page 1 and my interest remained until the last page.I can't wait to read the second book. This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways. I'm pretty picky about paranormal/fantasy type stories because so many are just crappy stories/plots or they turn into these huge confusing messes that need it's own encyclopedia to keep all the characters and terminology straight. I think Rita did a great job with this book. The story did start out kinda slow and it took me a bit to truly get interested in the story, but I'm glad I stuck with it. After finishing the book I understand that it needed that slow build up to start introducing the fantasy elements and the major characters of the book. There are quite a few major characters in the book and I feel that they were pretty well developed. There were a few times that I felt a secondary character may have been developed a bit too much, but after starting the 2nd book "The Lie Spinners" I get why that was done. In the 2nd book some of the more minor characters become front and center in the 2nd (Only type of spoiler I'll be posting). Overall I thought it's a great story and most likely will become one that I'll read over again. This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways. From the start I could not put this book down. I loved the paranormal component mixed with love story. An excellent easy read. I look foward to reading about Raven's next adventures with good vs evil. This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways. I was given the opportunity to read this for free in exchange for an honest review from librarything.com.I wasn't sure when I started this book that it was for me, but as I got into it, I found myself liking it more and more. Other than a few errors here and there, it was a smooth good read. Slow in a few parts, but I really liked it! On to book 2!

I loved the author ideas in that book. The story is intense with some interesting spins.
I will admit that I didn't liked Raven in the first part of the book. She was extremely annoying at times. That girl had no self preservation instinct or it was extremely wrong. You learn someone is a demon and you run straight to him? Talk about stupid... Oh, I agree that Nicholas should have told her what's going on and prepared her but still. Before she died I didn't liked her at all, I liked even Andras better at that point. She redeemed herself somewhat after that. I especially liked the fact that in the end she was willing to train and prepare and didn't just let herself go with the flow.
Nicholas...Nicholas I liked pretty much. Not my favorite character in the book but still good. He made some stupid choices, thought.
So, my favorite character, Stephen. I loved the guy. He was smart and kind and funny. Wanna see more of him. I was so worried when he got hurt.
Andras, our evil demon. I liked him. For a villain. If he wants something - he gets it. I believed that he is a demon. Nice work from the author on that character.
Interesting plot, some action, messed up love triangle... the book pretty much cover it all. I liked it a lot and I will love to read the next installment. ( )
