Jodi and Todd are at a bad place in their marriage. Much is at stake, including the affluent life they lead in their beautiful waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, the victim, rush haplessly toward the main event. I read this in one sitting and I have no clue why. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because I agreed with her amusing anecdote about why she named her dog Freud. Other than that, I was disappointed and not at all sure what the heck I read. I found it boring to be honest. Bored bored bored. ( )

The "wife" was one of the flattest characters I have read in a while. Her entire personality seemed to revolve around making dinner -or really weirdly specific foods, like providing her husband a plate of oysters when he gets home from work, as a pre-dinner snack. (how is this a thing?!?!)

I do enjoy trying to retell a book's story to my husband as I read them, emphasizing the most absurd parts - and this book had a lot to tell him.

I liked this. This is not a thriller at all. It's really about how dysfunction in our family of origin effects our future relationships. ( )
