A beloved book from childhood; it was and is one of my favorites! ( ![]() This book is an all around great book. It is about a class of kids who do not behave, and there teacher comes up with a plan to fix that. Miss Nelson goes "missing" and is replaced by the vile Miss Viola Swamp. It goes through the students imagination of what happened to her and how they must get Miss Nelson back. This book was true teacher humor! A class of students learned their lesson about misbehaving and taking advantage of having a good teacher. Their substitute is a horrible and scary woman and they are afraid of her - coincidentally she looks just like their teacher. It was a very cute story and they learned their lesson after begging for their old teacher back. This book is a clever reminder to always be respectful of your teachers. I can remember one of my elementary teachers reading this on the first day of school. I very well might read this to my own students on our first day. I love that this story is humorous and a little mysterious while still providing an important lesson in a fun way. Miss Nelson is a kind and compassionate teacher whose class cannot seem to control their behavior. One day their teacher goes 'missing" and in her place is Miss Viola Swamp and evil witch who makes class tough for all of the students. The students quickly regret how they treated Miss Nelson and are desperate to find her. The illustrations are equally as fun and playful as the story itself. I think this book will always be relevant. Miss Nelson is a sweet teacher whose personality is taken for granted by her students. Miss Nelson's students are always being disrespectful and misbehaving. In lue of changing their behavior Miss Nelson impersonates a strict substitute teacher. The students realize after some time with the substitute that they wish they had Miss Nelson. When Miss Nelson returns the students behavior is much improved and an important lesson was learned. This story connects well to students as we discuss respect and appropriate behavior. Belongs to SeriesMiss Nelson (1) Indeholdt iHas the adaptation
