PreS-Gr. 2. Who left the moose tracks all around the house? The narrator-home owner is determined to find out in this humorous, rhyming, animal-character mystery. The home owner remembers and can trace his other visitors. The hair on the chair came from a bear, the nutshells on the counter were left by a visiting chipmunk, and the feathers on the carpet fell from a goose during a lively rendition of the Hokey Pokey--"But who left all these moose tracks?" It may take a moment to realize what animal is narrating the story, but, ultimately, kids will get the joke--though the home owner remains baffled. Viewers will like the witty, colorful art, with its expressive cartoonlike animal character, riotously engaged in familiar activities. Kids will also appreciate the bouncing who-left-the-moose-tracksrefrain, which deepens both the mystery and the anticipation. Shelle Rosenfeld -- AbeBooks.com

Cute and funny, but so predictable it becomes a bit tedious getting to the inevitable ending. ( )

Genre: fantasy
Medium: acrylic, water color and ink
This book is about a dog trying to figure out where moose tracks came from. On each page, he introduces a new animal, and the mess they made, but he doesn't know where the moos tracks came from. The illustrations are brightly colored, and every page rhymes. The book is also predictable, because each page introduces a new animal, but ends by talking about where the moose tracks might have come from. This would be a fun book for a kindergarten or first grade classroom, but I think a child older than that would not be impressed.

USE: figuring things out, cleaning things up.Responsibility.
Genre: fantasy.
Media: paint.

This is fantasy and a good example of what happens when animals talk and have a party. Things can get messy. There were tracks on the floor. They hadn't seen a moose, but then it just turned out he was in the restroom cleaning himself up. Pick things up after yourself. ( )

This book was great! It was very silly and great for prediction lessons! I really enjoyed the rhyming throughout the book as well as the repetition of "but who left all of these moose tracks?" Another part of this book the I enjoyed and thought was helpful, especially for younger students, is that at the end, it recaps all of the places where the narrator saw the moose tracks, in case the reader has forgotten! The book was silly, and predictable. A really great and entertaining read for students! ( )
