Nicolas Fox is an international con man, famous for running elaborate scams on very rich and powerful people. He knows that the FBI has been hot on his trail for yearsparticularly FBI Special Agent Kate OHare. But just when it seems that Fox has been captured for good, he pulls off his greatest con of all: He convinces the FBI to offer him a job, working side by side with OHare.

Their first assignment takes them to the side streets of Berlin, the California desert, and remote Indonesian islands as they team up to catch Derek Griffin, a corrupt investment banker charged with stealing millions from his clients. Since I don't have a caper category I marked it mystery. This however is a caper book through and through. A little bit of an Ocean's 11 vibe. It felt like a great take on Moonlighting or Remington Steel (Only better). It was a light story with lots of action and comedy. A perfect book to start my summer read-a-thon off with. ( )

A great start to the Fox & O'Hare series. I love the chemistry between Nick Fox and Kate O'Hare and I can't wait to see what these two get up to in the rest of the series. ( )

Didn't have quite the level of humor I was used to from the Plum series, but was a quick good engaging summer light beach read! ( )

Read this for book club. I don't think there is going to be much to talk about. It was a nice easy pleasant read. I was pleased to find that the heroine was not as stupid and inept as Stephanie Plum. I enjoyed her competence and didn't even mind too much that she was supposedly an ex Navy SEAL. I read the author's note that they knew that but believed there should be female SEALs so I was okay with her. The cons were interesting and I liked watching them play out. The secondary characters were interesting and fun. I would have liked a bit more background on the two main characters. It mentioned that she had been kicked out of the SEALs but no idea of why. I also wanted to know Nick's motivation for being a con man instead of an upstanding citizen. I would be willing to read more in the series in order to find these things out. ( )

Kate catches him! But still Nick manages to escape on his way to court. Incensed by Nick’s utter disregard for the law, Kate tracks him down and captures him a second time. Except, her plan to bring him to justice is foiled when Kate realizes Nick has cut a deal with the highest levels of the FBI. In exchange for five years of hunting down their most difficult criminals, the FBI is prepared to consider Nick’s debt to society paid in full.

Of course, he will need someone with the Agency to keep an eye on him. Kate is volun-told Nick is her new secret partner. For their first case, they are sent on the hunt for a financial adviser who embezzled $500M from his clients and then disappeared.

Nick assembles a talented team; and the new “dynamic duo” set off to find their prey. The hunt takes them to the far East to capture their evasive target.

A fun story with a stunning leading man and an awkward leading lady. In spite of the professional relationship to which Kate clings, the heat between this pair is undeniable. Definitely worth spending time reading. ( )
