To Read (157) Der er ingen diskussionstråde på Snak om denne bog. I didn't enjoy this second book in the series as much as the first book. I found large sections to be incredibly slow and took effort to pick back up when I had put it down. I enjoyed with the children got to London, but most of the process of getting there wasn't very interesting to me. I enjoyed hearing more about the Pecurliardom world and meeting new children/characters who had peculiar abilities, but wish the plot held my interest the entire time. An intriguing read, but not quite as captivating as the first book in this series. Loved it - can't wait until the final installment coming out next month. I have already pre-ordered it on Amazon. So unique and engaging. A must read for all things peculiar! I enjoyed the first book in the series and was upset with myself for waiting so long to read the second book. But once I started I just felt like the story was slower paced and had less action. I remember the first book fondly and I'm underwhelmed with this book ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Well, this is what happens in a series, right? Imagine reading The Two Towers and waiting on Return of the King to be written. There is an element of hanging fire to the whole thing.
I feel that it will be worth the wait and that this series will be very memorable. Mr. Riggs is a fantastic writer. His world building skills are first rate and his characters are compelling.
The action is certainly amped up in this one, as are the numerous confrontations. We are now traveling through war torn London on a mission to save Ms. Peregrine. I found the historical element fascinating. Our intrepid gang of gifted children prove themselves to be quite formidable and the several interactions with the hollows and wights are cinematic and thrilling. I found the changing scenery to be refreshing and really enjoyed the new “peculiars” that they pick up along the way.
4 stars. Maybe partially because I am impatient and want to read the third part.
Now. Yeah, now would be nice.
