A bit sentimental for me, and if I had to read one more "real...really" I'd have screamed - it seemed to be the only adjective Bobby owned. Bobby Salton is a woman on the run. With her six-year-old daughter she finds refuge in a rambling house on the Connecticut shore and the chance to rebuild their lives. Hired as a live-in companion to Alma Ogilvie, Bobby helps the retired teacher regain her independence. But Bobby's abrupt appearance also has a starling effect, especially on Eva Rule, Alma's niece. Bobby reminds the successful author of a time she'd rather forget. As these three very different women grapple with memories of haunted pasts, they form a tenuous bond, one that is all too soon put to the test. Just as they begin to believe in the future, the past catches up with them in a violent climax that threatens everything they have now come to trust. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
