I really can't remember much about the previous book, and I'm not finding Locke's narration any more engaging. Read some reviews which seem to indicate that the romance and tear-jerking epilogue are the best parts. I skipped ahead to the epilogue to see if it made finishing the book worthwhile for me, and...no. By all accounts this is better than the second one, which was pretty unfortunate, but I think I'm going to go back to pretending that this isn't a series. Fox Forever is the final installment in the Jenna Fox Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson. The Adoration of Jenna Fox (Book One) was an outstanding book that stood well on its own and I fiercely loved that book when I first read it. I was unsure how I would feel about delving deeper into the lives of Jenna's best friends in the subsequent two books. The Fox Inheritance (Book Two) laid the ground work for the success of Fox Forever and, after finishing Book Three, I'm now a fan of the series in its entirety. Fox Forever is about so much more than Jenna Fox. Locke Jenkins, the main character of Book Three, is under obligation to return a Favor. Now free after two hundred and sixty years, the world is a very different place from the one Locke remembers. The fallout from a civil war has pushed those who refuse to join the new government establishment to the far edge of society where they live in squalor and despair. Locke's favor involves ingratiating himself with the daughter of a high-raking government official in order to gain a foothold on behalf of the resistance and help rescue their leader. Locke, equipped with super human abilities is up to the task and accepts his mission to aid the underground movement. After assessing his target, a young girl named Raine, he realizes something is amiss and is inexplicably drawn to her. Eventually, Locke realizes he has fallen for this girl and discovers her father is actually the imprisoned leader of the resistance. A romance blooms in the unlikeliest of places and readers are kept on the edge of their seats hoping for a happy ending. Book Three did a great job wrapping up an impressive sci-fi trilogy that is packed with adventure and suspense. I'm impressed with how well Pearson moves along the narrative while focusing on different characters throughout the series. I like how all the love stories and triangles played themselves out in unexpected, yet satisfying, ways. Overall, this is a solid series that deserves a place on your shelves! ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

HTML: Locke Jenkins has some catching up to do. After spending 260 years as a disembodied mind in a little black box, he has a perfect new body. But before he can move on with his unexpected new life, he'll have to return the Favor he accepted from the shadowy resistance group known as the Network. Locke must infiltrate the home of a government official by gaining the trust of his daughter, seventeen-year-old Raine, and he soon finds himself pulled deep into the world of the resistanceâ??and into Raine's life. With Fox Forever, Mary E. Pearson brings the story she began in The Adoration of Jenna Fox and continued in The Fox Inheritance to a breathtaking conclusion as Locke discovers that being truly human requires much more than flesh and blood. After reading the first two in the trilogy, I was looking forward to this one. The downfall was that it has been a while since I read the others, so I had completely forgotten who was who and what had happened. I really liked the way she reminded her readers what had happened in the past and what had lead to the current situation. Just a few gentle nudges to remind me about the bio-bodies and the way they had been stored in stasis reminded me about the way Jenna first found out about the set-up and then how it advanced from there.
Overall, a great finish for the trilogy. ( )
