Note: I accessed a digital review copy of this book through Edelweiss. ( ) This book taught me the importance of the parade in Oaxaca, Mexico. There are many men and women who participate that each have different jobs. They have a significant balloon that signifies the parade has started. They have fireworks to celebrate, they have music for people to dance to, big giants to show off the people of the city, special lanterns for the children, and women with flower baskets on their head. This book taught me many words I didn't know in spanish and made sound out anything I didn't know. The ceramic figures really made the story more interesting and detailed.
