Peter and his fairy Tinkerbell convince Wendy and her brothers to go to Neverland with them. They teach the children that all you need to do to fly is think happy thoughts. The children get to meet many people in Neverland such as the Lost Boys and pirates. Captain Hook has it out for Peter Pan, the book is about the battle between the two. Another classic book that features a story for all ages and genders. Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up. Peter Pan is one of those stories that stays with you forever. The pictures are great Summary Peter Pan is the story of a boy who never grows up, and who lives in Neverland. One day Peter Pan and his friend Tinkerbell, fly to London to retrieve his shadow from a young girl named Wendy. Peter likes to secretly visit Wendy, and listen to her tell her younger brothers stories about Peter and the magical land of Neverland. When Peter arrives at Wendy’s, he finds his shadow and after getting help to secure it again, he invites Wendy and her brothers to come to Neverland. In order to fly to Neverland, the children need to think “happy” thoughts, as well as get sprinkled with pixie dust. When in Neverland, the children encounter “Indians”, Mermaids, and the infamous Captain Hook. The adventures and battles that the children go on eventually come to an end, when Wendy explains to Peter that they have to return to London to be with their family. Personal Reaction The story of Peter Pan, is one of my favorite stories of all time. The innocence, magic and adventure that every version has, is something that I am now able to share with my children. The world we live in, can sometimes be sad and depressing, to be able to escape into such a magical and colorful story such as Peter Pan, can restore a child’s hope. I think everyone should carry with them an inner child, and hold onto as much as their innocence as they can, that’s why I think Peter Pan is such a fantastic and timeless story. Extension Ideas Peter Pan is a great story to help enhance a child’s imagination. After reading the story to the class, they will then have the opportunity to recreate the characters through imaginary play. They will have fairy wings, pirate gear, mermaid tales and more to choose from, and together as a class, we will recreate our version of Peter Pan. Doing an imagery activity like this, can boost a child’s self-esteem, and allow them to have creative freedom. Another fun activity to do after reading Peter Pan, is to go outside on a sunny day, and with chalk have the children trace each other’s shadows, then color them in. Peter Pan is about a boy who got stuck in Neverland, where you never get older. He bring a girl and her brothers to the land and they go on many adventures with pirates and the lost boys (peter pans friends). They are trying not tot get captured by captain hook the entire book. After saving the land and tinker bell windy finally gets taken home along with her brothers. Peter pan is a great book and a great example of a Fantasy book because it involves imagination and suspension about beliefs about reality. The end of the book was great the only extension I would add could be that they continue to be friends. (Peter and Wendy) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
