Mem Fox's fictional fantasy "Tell Me About Your Day Today" is book about a boy who loves bedtime. As a picture book with simple rhyming and repetition, he and his four best friends each recount "the who, the what, the why, and the whole wild thing turned out okay". While encouraging imagination, play, and friendship, this book also teaches young children from K-2nd grade to think critically about an event from multiple points of view. ( )

In this book, a boy loves bedtime. He enjoys it because he gets to talk to his stuffed animals and hear how their day went. He goes to each stuffed animal and asks how their day was. The stuffed animal tells him "the who, the what, the why, and the way, and everything always turns out okay. Finally, the boy reflects on his own day before going to bed. This book uses repetition. This book is appropriate for kindergarten through third grade. This book is so much fun because it brought back memories about how when I used to talk to my stuffed animals and wish they would come to life. I would use this book as a mentor text to promote story telling in my class.
