Awarded 1st Place in the Chanticleer Blue Ribbon Mystery & Mayhem Awards, Humor Category. In this award-winning humorous chick-lit mystery, a former best-selling romance writer tries to pick up the pieces of her life after getting her heart stomped on by her lying, cheating boyfriend, and returns to her hometown in Florida where she contends with family, reporters, hurricanes, wildlife, a hunky Texan cowboy, a drop-dead gorgeous doctor ... and murder. What readers are saying about RULES OF LYING:"Absolutely, unequivocally LOVED it ... Had me laughing uncontrollably and reading out loud to my co-workers.""This book had it all-humor, mystery, suspense, and romance. I can't wait to read the next book in this series""I couldn't stop reading on the IPad, it was hilarious. I really enjoyed this writer. She is up there with the top notch best sellers. I can hardly wait to read more from this author. She gives Janet Evanovich some good competition.""This book made me laugh, it made me dream, it made me cry (just a little) and made me take a look at myself. A little bit mystery, a little bit romance, a little bit chic-lit, Rules of Lying is a lot of entertainment."… (mere)

I was captured right away with Jane's problem. The internal one and the external ones. A quirky family, a few hunks and a great story. ( )

I was keeping track of the rules, but got so engrossed in the story that I lost track. The author does a good job of letting the reader get into Jane’s head to understand why and how she scrutinizes everything and then justifies what she’s doing. Jane’s unsuccessful attempts at keeping a low profile remind me of the situations that Elaine (from Seinfeld) got herself into. There’s a scene of Jane hiding out in the hospital that had me laughing out loud. Fortunately, she meets an attractive doctor who knows how she thinks and keeps her from getting into too much trouble--more than once. I really like Jane and was sympathetic to her trying to save her home while it seemed that her family wasn’t much help. As I was reading, I wondered if Jane would ever learn that she needs to trust men, be honest and ask for help. I’m looking forward to reading more about Jane Dough’s humorous adventures in the next book. ( )
