Grimmtown's "foremost detective" Harry Pigg is on the job again, this time finding Santa Claus before Christmas Eve arrives. As with the first book, this was a clever combination of fractured fairy tales and hard-boiled, noir detective - a combination that works better than one might think. With the exception of one major plot hole, I enjoyed the book quite a bit and am looking forward to the next one in the series. ( )

Whereas the first book in the series was quite an entertaining read, this one is a book too far. The jokes in 'The Ho Ho Ho mystery' are just not funny and writing it as a Christmas tie-in is never going to be a good idea. One book good - two books not good - three books ( and I understand the writer has a third one coming out) No,no. and thrice no ! ( )
