See, here's the thing about short stories: you get intrigued, you begin to fall in love with the characters, and then BAM, it's finished and you find yourself pining for more. So it was with Lady Celie's all too brief murder mystery at Ferragost Castle in Belegonia. My only solace is that I shall have her presence with me once more in less than a month when Quintana of Charyn is released (that is, if fishpond gets its act together and puts up the Australian version on its website for everyone to purchase). Perfect.

"And if it weren’t for the scent of Celina, May of the Lumateran Flatlands on the blanket he had placed around her shoulders the night of Argus Laraunt’s disappearance, Valentien Banyon would have slept fitfully.

But there it was.

And so he didn’t."
