This Pride and Prejudice variation begins after Jane and Elizabeth have left Netherfield after Jane's illness.
One morning while at riding Darcy sees Elizabeth as a tree falls near her. This scare awakes his feelings for her, and Elizabeth sees a different side to Darcy. Is the path of love smooth?
Loved it. ( )

This was another great Pride and Prejudice Variation by KaraLynne Mackrory. I love all the characters and the way she writes them. The story was a lot of fun to read and I enjoyed seeing how the relationships between Lizzy & Darcy as well as Jane & Bingley develop and evolve throughout the book. Mr. Bennet and Colonel Fitwilliam were also a lot of fun and I love their personalities in this book. I look forward to reading more by this author. ( )

Falling for Mr. Darcy por KaraLynne Mackrory

Falling For Mr. Darcy by KaraLynn Mackrory is an adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Mackrory explores the idea of what would happen if Mr. Darcy let go of his pride and told people about George Wickham's scandalous behavior before Wickham could charm his way into the hearts of Merryton, if Darcy never interfered with Bingley and Jane's relationship, and if he behaved in "a more gentleman-like manner" towards Elizabeth. You might think that by doing these things, it would eliminate any problems in the story. However Darcy's honorable actions causes a whole new set of problems.
Wickham becomes desperate and his actions more deplorable than in the original Pride and Prejudice. Darcy is still enamored with Elizabeth but is torn between what he thinks is his duty and what his heart wants. I love that Mackrory makes use of some of the minor characters from P&P in this book. Mr Bennet is his usual witty self, Mr. Collins is still abhorrent, and Colonel Fitzpatrick is still very charming. The author does play around with their story lines a bit to make everything more interesting.
This is a really good adaptation of the original story. I really like the direction that the author took this book. I've often wondered what would happen if Darcy had done things differently. Mackrory answered my questions and more in Falling For Mr. Darcy. ( )
