Gostei mais do Ben e da Alicia, estou desejosa de os rever no próximo livro :) ( )

There were two love stories in the plot line of the book. The main Hero was Lord Andrew, a rake with honour. The heroine a debutante and virgin,Elena. There is a kidnaping that neither the hero or heroine had anything to do with. What would you do if you were locked in a room with only a bed, small table and privacy screen and the man was a drop dead gorgeous rake. Of course,
play cards...and a few intimate lessons or two.

The second romance is the married couple, Alicia and Ben. She wants her marriage of 6 months to move from the stuffy and cold to the warm and personal. Ben is also the detective hired by the heroine's father. The clues are frustrating and scarce and in fact the reason for the kidnapping is only partially solved in the end and one is left with the feeling of "To be continued."

The story moves along smoothly and at an interest involving clip. The heat factor is moderate. The characters well developed and all very likeable. ( )

Emma Wildes is one of my favorite authors and I was really excited about this book as the premise following two couples romances with one couple being married reminded me of "Lessons from a Scarlet Lady", one of my all time favorite books.

This book was a little too slow for me and not as sensual as Ms. Wildes' normal writing. I think the kidnapping plot took up a lot of space that was normally reserved for character development. The romance between Elena and Ran was well done if not a little rushed. Unfortunately the romance between Ben and his wife seemed to be missing steps. This couple seems to be in the next book in the series as well so maybe we'll get more detail there but I felt like scenes were missing.

A mildly enjoyable book but it wasn't the quality I was used to from Emma Wildes. ( )
