Hannah has come back to Pleasant Valley as a widow with her young son. Having lived in the English world with her military husband, she must adapt once again to the Amish customs, and try to figure out where she truly belongs now and how to raise her son. She will meet William Brand who works in a furniture shop next door to the bakery where Hannah works. Hannah will eventually offer to hep William with his stuttering problem, and soon a friendship will blossom into something must more.

There was once again a good look into the people of the Pleasant Valley community. The author does a good job of making her characters seem very real, with very real problems they must overcome. These stories could be read as stand alone books, but I would recommend reading them in the order written so that you can get to know the folks in Pleasant Valley. ( )

I enjoyed this as I have the previous books in the series. The main characters were both Amish and Mennonite and Hannah had even been "Englisch" from age 9 until the time the book starts when she moves in with her aunt.
I was glad that the author added a list of characters to this book as there are so many now with all of the characters from the previous books and some new ones are involved. ( )
