![]() Ingen Der er ingen diskussionstråde på Snak om denne bog. Rash definitely has a way with spinning a yarn of a story. I always feel like I'm part of the places he writes about, like I've lived in those mountains my whole life. His stories have a way of sticking with you and One Foot in Eden is no different. ( ![]() Beautifully rendered descriptions of Southern landscape and atmosphere. Heat and humidity and cicadas. Tragic. Beautiful. Lovely. Set in upstate South Carolina, Rash’s debut novel is as harsh and haunting as the landscape he writes about. The town troublemaker disappears and Sheriff Will Alexander knows in his bones that the man has been murdered but he can’t even find the body. Exploring ties to family, community, and the land, Rash’s book is perfectly atmospheric and relevant to me as a southern Appalachian woman with roots in the area going back many generations. My first Ron Rash book and it won't be my last! Quite the storyteller, really brings his characters to life - still thinking about some of them. Haunting tale, beautifully written. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Will Alexander is the sheriff in a small town in southern Appalachia, and he knows that the local thug Holland Winchester has been murdered. The only thing is the sheriff can find neither the body nor someone to attest to the killing. Simply, almost elementally told through the voices of the sheriff, a local farmer, his beautiful wife, their son, and the sheriff's deputy, One Foot in Eden signals the bellwether arrival of Ron Rash, one the most mature and distinctive voices in Southern literature.
