This short eBook is a rewrite of Aesop's fables. Some of the rewritten fables are funny and interesting to read but others are a little stupid to me. Still they were worth reading for a laugh. This book is very short and can be read in about an hour.

If you enjoyed the original Aesop's book then you should really read this one with a modern day twist.

In this retelling of Aesop’s fables, the author makes the fables relevant to today’s society in a humorous way. The author has an interesting sense of humor which comes out in his writing. This is a humorous retelling of a few old children’s stories. ( )

A difficult book to rate. I grew up reading and hearing Aesop's fables. I loved them just the way they were. I much prefer Aesop to this modernized version. ( )

I loved Aesop when I was younger, & I read the fables to all 3 of my children. To me this book was a little disappointing.
I appreciated the original Aesop fables beginning each chapter.
On some chapters, the revisited form just made the story longer by adding useless information. Other chapters the new fable deviated so far from the original you felt lost.
Then there is the revisited fable in chapter 12: The Rose and The Amaranth, that are actually a retelling of Twilight. Mentioning immortality, Eddie the vampire bat, And Jake the Werewolf's bane.
Or Chapter 6 The Fox and the Grapes is an episode of American Idol during the audition stage. Characters include Simon Salamander, Paula Penguin, and Randy Rhinoceros.
This is definitely not the book for anyone truly looking for updated versions of the great fables, but if you have already been forwarned and still want to read it. Then look at it from a light hearted, just for jokes point of view and you may get through the book and enjoy it for the sake of pure fun. ( )

I grew up reading Aesop's and fairy tales so I was really looking forward to reading this. Unfortunately, this book is not at all the take on "fables" as I was expecting. I couldn't finish reading it (got through about 1/2). Instead, his versions were drawn out jibes, some based on specific USA political issues, and not at all my cup of tea. I'd recommend this book to those in the USA that wants to have a laugh about ITS society- but if looking at this book for a take on the classic fables, look somewhere else. ( )
