Spoof of Madeleine. Definitely for older kids. But quite amusing. I picked this up after reading a board book that was dedicated to Walton. I'd heard of him but never really read any of his books. I'm glad I did. ( )

6 y/o review: this book is HILARIOUS! I liked how Frankenstein lost his head, then all the others lost their heads, but the teacher just left them with no heads because it was quiet! ( )

Had to buy this for my daughter since we both loved Madeleine when she was little. The book is not just a parody, but it has very clever and interesting illustrations with lots to discover and discuss in them. This would make a terrific Halloween gift for a child who enjoys such things as ghouls and goblins. ( )

Frankenstein is a modern fantasy picture book aimed at teaching children that bad behavior has repercussions. I enjoyed this books because I feel that the pictures vivid and interesting, this is important when trying to keep a young children attention. I also enjoyed how straight forward the text is. Simple words and phrasing such as “They bit the good and gobbled the bad” accompanied with disrupt pictures always for a lack of confusion for young readers. However, I didn't care for how the adult character didn't inflict any punishment for bad behavior until the end. For the majority of the book the “little monsters” were allowed to run a muck with supervision. Overall, the books gave the lesson that bad behavior does have consequences and that children must listen to their parents.
