We were talking about it last night at the club I seem to have joined - or been recruited into as Stefan put it - and one of the guys is a physicist whose sister is as well. She is so pissed off because she is what she sees as the victim of this completely fucked up idea. She is going to spend the rest of her life having no idea if she is any good as a physicist or if it is all about her having a cunt.
Honestly.
Both of us would so much rather just get to play, work, research on our merits and know that if we do well it is because we are better. At least chess has ratings, so I have some objective measure of how I'm going. But the fact is I already have at the front of my mind that every good thing people are saying about my chess is because I have unusual sexual organs.
Robin's sister is even worse off. There is no objective measure of what she is like.
Both of us would rather face the slings and arrows of misfortune and go down fighting if that's what happens than have stuff patronisingly given to us because we have cunts and then on top of it know that for the rest of our lives that's what all the guys are going to think. What we got, what we made of ourselves was all about the sexism of positive discrimination.
Yuuccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! Get us out of here!
