Awwwwww poor thing! He's just so adorable and heartbroken, I wanted to throw my arms around him and hug him...

I loved those little glimpses into Kai's head, he's a very complex guy, and I could never decipher the meaning behind his words in Sweet Evil; I was all: "is he really wanting to push Anna away every moment he told her to?" "How is he feeling all this time far from her?" "Okay what did he just mean by sayingthat?"...

Now, I'm even more crazy in love intrigued by him.

I miss him terribly, and I can't wait for Sweet Peril to come!

Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaai!!
One simply cannot get enough of a hot, soul-tortured, half-demon British drummer...
I say Wendy should write at least one book from Kaidan POV.

If I don't like the protagonist, I have a very hard time liking the book which is my exact problem with Sweet Evil; I hate Anna! She is so damn annoying, way too sweet and innocent and there is absolutely no progress throughout the book. She just remains this blue-eyed little girl with a mayor crush - yawn! And the crush part I don't get - how can she fall in love with a guy, who treats her like that and who's job sucks (from girlfriend POV, probably not from Kaidan's).

Kaidan is almost as boring as Anna. He’s supposed to be the bad guy, but I just never feel it - he just seems like an ass! He treats Anna horribly and I don't get why she likes him. Seriously, the love story in Sweet Evil ain't that sweet.

I really loved Anna's adoptive mother, Patti, in the beginning. She was protective, loving and careful right up till the point where she sends her daughter of on a road trip with the son of lust. Huh? Talk about irresponsible. It doesn't seem like her at all and it's just wrong!
Kope I liked - a lot. The love triangle thingy doesn't work, but I liked his personality and the choices he makes.

I very much liked the idea about angels, demons and the different kind of dukes and I would have loved this book had Anna and Kaidan been the slightest bit interesting. Unfortunately most of the story is about their road trip. Anna's ability to see emotions as color is awesome and mostly I just really want to read the story with different main characters - I think it could have been amazing.

I'm still considering reading the next in the series in the hope of character development. I mean, come on - you can't have that great a premise and keep destroying it with lack of character building! Wendy Higgins, I'm rooting for you :) ( )

I dont know what happened and why this book was removed from my read list but I had to add everything again...thankfully, I had the review up on booklikes.com

May Contain Slight Spoilers. Just know, read at your own risk if you haven't read it already! lol I try not to give spoilers often, and when I do I try not to give away the whole story (especially the ending).

This book, I gave a 4.5/5.

When I went into this book, I didn't know what it was about and didn't really expect to like it. The title itself threw me off as well. That was one of the reasons I didn't want to read it. The other was that it had been over hyped on Booktube.

When I first picked the book up from the library, I was still iffy about the book and thought about taking it back a few times without reading it. When I finally decided to pick it up, I was glad I decided to read it. I had misunderstood what the title meant when I had originally saw it, but in reading the book, I understood why the title was what it is.

On rare occasions, fiction books will have me amazed and touch a certain part of my life and do things that have me saying/thinking: That fits me perfectly! There was a prayer in the book that Anna did that had me going back and praying it for my own life as well: I don't know what You'll have me do, or where You'll have me go, but I trust You. Please show me when it's time to act. Help me to recognize the signs. Speak to my heart and let me hear"

Me being the spiritual person that I am, I was reading this book and thinking: hm, this is a new way to look at the jobs of demons and how they may rank in their world. I knew each one had a job to do but this little fictional book gave me a new way of seeing things.

This book was very well written. I love Anna and Kaiden. The Tension and attraction between them, in my eyes, was perfect. Even though sometimes Kaiden was a bit much, Wendy made sure you understood why he had to be how he was.

The book, as wonderful as it was, wasn't a favorite and I got bored a couple times (I think it was more me than the book itself). That's why it only got 4.5/5 Stars.

I liked how, even when Anna struggled with her feelings for Kaiden, Wendy Higgins didn't drag those issues and feelings out over a bunch of pages, or full chapter. She allowed Anna to feel what she was feeling and got it done within a couple of pages, then just carried on with the story.

I generally tend to flock towards angel books, but some angel vs. demon books make me nervous because some people tend to take things too far so I steer clear. But this book, was perfectly done for me. It has made me want to open up a little more to some angels vs demons things. I've liked some other books that you had to deal with demon type of situations but never head on demon vs. angel, well, not to the extent this one was. I'm used to ones more along the line of the Embrace Series by Jessica Shirvington. You had your battles in there as well, but nothing like this. And the Embrace series is one of my favorites..No, there are no comparisons between the two, for me, they are totally different other than there being good angels vs. bad angels. I hope I am making myself clear. lol...For me, there is a bit of a difference. I guess some are just more obvious with what the angels vs. demons situations are called. :-) ( )

Oh Lordy. I can’t. I should have read this back in my angels and demons phase. Now, I just can’t.

Basically, the story from what I gathered in the eight chapters I read, is this: girl is angel and demon (very predictable, I called it from the beginning) is a good-two-shoes (like the type to ask the teacher if she’s gonna collect the homework. Also, WHY did that have to be a part of the story? It was so ridiculous), who meets a random, hot[t] (her words, not mine. Hott) dude and is instantly attracted and repelled.

She finds out she’s totally interested in drugs and alcohol, and also about her heritage. Yay. And the hott guy (Kaidan. Or Kai, like Thai, only yummier. Gag, facepalm, facedesk, face-through-wall) accidentally introduces her to his demon father (oh, btw, his dad is a demon, so he’s like her!), who insists she has sex and learns to make others sin. She was being her little good girl self going “no! I can’t!” And Kaidan’s there like “okay, stay away from me then,” AND WE ALL KNOW SHE WON’T BECAUSE PLOT!

That’s where I quit. I just can’t anymore. Hott, Thai, and the whole “I can tell you’re still a virgin at 16. You need to have sex ASAP” thing did it for me. So, bye!

With the recent rash of angel books I’ve been reading, I went into this one saying to would have to work to stand out.
It didn’t. All it needed was Kai.

Point 1: Anna is a cool character, the epitome of good-girl personified.

Point 2: Kai is omigod, so HOT!

Point 3: I enjoyed to new take on demons and Nephilim. It set itself apart from other Nephilim books I’ve read.

Point 4: have you noticed when there’s a boy and a girl, and they take a trip over a great distance, just the two of them, they tend to fall in love? This is the third book I’ve read this month in which such an occurrence has taken place, the first two being Alex and Willow from Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly, and Aria and Perry from Under the Never Sky. admittedly, Aria and Perry weren’t in a car, and I’m not sure how much of the continent of America they crossed, but it was just the two of them, crossing a great swath of land.

Point 5: this may be weird of me, but I love it when the chapters are titled. Its like, the author took the extra time to come up with a title for each individual chapter, and it just fees so special. Like a Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate with Almonds bar. Like, if the book is a delicious steak dinner, the chapter titles are the dessert.
Wow. I know I’m cheesy.

Point 6: I can’t believe Jay isn’t secretly in love with her or something. Boy-girl best-friendships are hokey, at best. Unless one of them is secretly in love with the other, than it's downright UNNATURAL.

Point 7: am sooo not waiting patiently for the next one.

This book only has four stars, because I've been trying to reserve 5-star ratings for really Amazing-O-So-Astounding! books. this one didn't quite make it into that category, despite Kaiden's best efforts.
With that, I bid you adieu.
