The here and now is simply not able to bear the weight of our expectations. We've lost an eternal perspective, and it hurts us every day. Job disappointment, relationship struggles, and quiet feelings of disillusionment all signal that something is not quite right. Life only makes sense when you realize that all of the situations, locations, and relationships of your life were not designed to be a final resting place for your hopes and dreams, but tools of preparation for a destination to come. Living without eternity puts pressure on the here and now to be what it cannot be and to deliver what it cannot deliver. Countless people deal daily with the frustration of a life that has no "forever." In Jesus Christ the hope of eternity is restored and, with it, a radical new way of understanding and facing the normal struggles of life in a world broken and waiting for restoration.… (mere)

exceptional truths and encouragement! each section had so much good substance and depth... encouragement that was not only specific, but zoomed out so vividly to see the "big picture" of acknowledging and living for an eternal God through an eternal savior! highly recommended reading :) ( )

NCLA Review: The concept of living for eternity is at the core of this book. Tripp says that people have forgotten that there is something more than “right here, right now.” Choosing to live with the view that what really matters is eternity will make the here and now more joyful, peaceful, productive, and less fearful. If the reader looks through the lens of eternity, relationships, suffering and death will be put in perspective. He discusses many aspects of life: marriage, parenting, jobs as examples; and then tells his own forever story of understanding his anger and bringing it under control. The author uses Bible references, examples and stories of peoples’ lives to make his point. Readers who have never thought along these lines would find this book revealing. Rating: 3 —AMB ( )

[The Evidence is Everywhere] Why is it so hard for us to be satisfied?
No matter who you are, where you are, and how old you are, you long for a perfect world and struggle with the fact that the address where you live is anything but perfect.
