"Today, He is a God. 4000 years ago, He was just a man. The hunt is on. The sinister Naga warrior has killed his friend Brahaspati and now stalks his wife Sati. Shiva, the Tibetan immigrant who is the prophesied destroyer of evil, will not rest till he finds his demonic adversary. His vengeance and the path to evil will lead him to the door of the Nagas, the serpent people. Of that he is certain. The evidence of the malevolent rise of evil is everywhere. A kingdom is dying as it is held to ransom for a miracle drug. A crown prince is murdered. The Vasudevs -Shiva's philosopher guides- betray his unquestioning faith as they take the aid of the dark side. Even the perfect empire Meluha is riddled with a terrible secret in Maika, the city of births. Unknown to Shiva, a master puppeteer is playing a grand game. In a journey that will take him across the length and breadth of ancient India, Shiva searches for the truth in a land of deadly mysteries - only to find that nothing is what it seems."… (mere)

Guess this will be my favourite of the 3 books. Connecting the mythology and yet creating a totally different story is what Amish is good at! I really loved how the suspense was build up until the very end. ( )

The sequel lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor. [a:Amish Tripathi|4343092|Amish Tripathi|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1304316691p2/4343092.jpg] has become my favourite Indian author; his way of storytelling is unlike any other Indian author that I've come across. I consider him to be at par with [a:Dan Brown|630|Dan Brown|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1399396714p2/630.jpg], if I daresay, since he too blends fiction with historical facts.

I can't help but wonder at the rich characters, powerful and impelling storyline; but the most impressive thing that I find in his works is the message that he delivers through sheer ingenuity. The concepts of Good and Evil have been portrayed as two sides of the same coin, which may sound clichéd, but is relevant as ever!

Through this mythological epic we are reminded how wonderfully awesome our cultural history is.

Earnestly looking forward to the series finale, as well as further works by the mighty author. ( )
