The character of Kevin is lovely, bright, funny, and a guy that his friends and family can count on. I really liked him. The main problem that I had with the story was that it was hard to tell where the "mystery" began and why Kevin's closeted boyfriend, Tony, who was a cop, didn't take more of an interest in the murders. Early in the story one of Kevin's friends is hit by a hit and run driver and spends the entire story in a coma without Kevin or any of his friends taking much of an interest in his condition. Just seemed odd. I did like the ending, and I loved Kevin's mother and the lengths she went to in order to get even with the TV personality that was running down Kevin and the rest of the gay community. There are 3 books in this series thus far and of course I've read them backwards, but I know for a fact that Scott Sherman has created a character in Kevin that is both charming and intelligent and is only discovering just how smart he really is. I hope that the author lets Kevin live in several more books. ( ) Kevin Connor would be the first to tell you he doesn't seek out mystery--it just seems to find its way into his orbit. So when his friends and fellow escorts are being targeted by a potential serial killer, he can't help going into to crime solver mode. Even if it means putting himself in danger. This is an entertaining read with a great through-line in terms of the plot and some excellent side characters thrown in to fill out Kevin's world. I had heard only good things about the first book in this series, First You Fall, but for a reason or the other I have never had the chance to read it. Now I’m deeply regretting it since Second You Sin was so good I totally want to read more about Kevin and his friends. I’m not really a fan of mystery, so sincerely, I was expecting for this novel to be all right according to my tastes, but nothing more. Second You Sin is instead one of the funniest books I have ever read, and Kevin one of the most cute and sweet characters. And it was not easy for me to like it, since I was totally prejudiced against a man who, despite finding the love of his life, hunk cop Tony, is still hustling for a living. Why a charming and clever man cannot find another choice of career? But aside from the fact that, once he hook up with his semi-boyfriend (as he calls Tony), they decided he wasn’t to have penetrative sex with his clients (that means that Kevin is basically doing role playing with his clients and not real sex), there is also the factor that Kevin is totally a natural, at ease with his job, but also with his volunteering to the local church, or with being the best friend and confident of all the most beautiful New York boys, hustlers or not. And probably the fact that the mystery is only one of the plot playing on this novel, makes this novel nearer to my cup of tea; aside from trying to understand who is killing the beautiful hustlers of NY, Kevin is also trying to find the perfect boyfriend for his best friend (probably to remove temptation from his sight, so that he can concentrate on Tony), dealing with his overwhelming mother and her unexpected career in the show business, and trying to dribbling so many offers that I was really wondering why Kevin is not trying his hand as male model, apparently he is like sex on a stick. Kevin, all cuteness and sweetness, is so perfect that this was really one heck of a romance, and while I’m regretting not having the chance to know better Tony, I have great expectations for the third book in the series. http://www.amazon.com/dp/0758266510/?tag=elimyrevandra-20 ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Someone is killing New York City's hottest male prostitutes, and it's up to full-time call boy, part-time sleuth Kevin Connor to find out who. With his spectacular boy-next-door looks, quick wit, and ability to role-play even the most outrageous scenarios, Kevin is facing his most challenging position yet--to stop a ruthless killer. As Kevin begins his investigation, there's no shortage of possible suspects or motives. Could the killer be a sadistic head case with a deadly fetish? A high-profile celebrity worried that his biggest secret might get out? Or perhaps it's a right-wing politician, guilty of protesting too much from his pious and unforgiving soapbox. As Kevin gets closer to the truth, he'll find himself trapped in a scandalous web of secrets where the line between victim and predator blurs, and no sin goes unpunished. . .
