This is a great book to read to a diverse group of secondary students. The book includes a lot of things specific to the Latino culture. This would be an English and Drama's teacher's dream lesson to have a class read and perform this. The story is humorous with English and Spanish throughout the story. Of course, it appeals mostly to native speakers who understand the culture, but everyone could relate to the issues of awkwardness in dating, not to mention family members who interfere. (There's a Spanish glossary at the end to help non-Spanish speakers get the "gist".) ( )
