Emerson Blackburn really screwed up this time. He's finally pissed off Jonah, the sweet, patient, funny boyfriend he's loved as long as he can remember, to the point that Jonah isn't even speaking to him. Emerson hasn't felt this awful since the summer after graduation when Jonah ruined their college plans by running off on a cross-country trip without even saying goodbye. Jonah isn't just angry. He's furious and hurt. Devastated, even, because he's completely in love with Emerson, but although they've been together for a year, Emerson still doesn't trust him. The full weight of their past mistakes drags Jonah and Emerson into memories of happier-and lonelier-times, but wallowing in their guilt isn't solving the problems. The only way to move forward is to learn from the past... but someone still has to be the first to apologize.… (mere)

What to say. It wasn't that bad to give it one star but for me, too much was wrong with it to fully enjoy it.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Positive sides:
- I liked that the letters were written on different papers. Each one gives a hint to where or what both parties were doing. It was clever and funny to read.
- I like the side characters. They were non-judgemental but had their flaws.

Negative sides:
- One of the main character cries. A LOT. I mean I'm a relatively emotional person but you wouldn't find me crying all day long, that's too exhausting. At some point you fall in sleep. The impression I got was that he cried for DAYS. I'm sorry but if he was a girl than I would find already far fetched but he is a guy. Name one guy who even admits he cries once in a blue moon. That bugged me a lot. Even if you're gay, that does't mean that suddenly your testosterones dropped way below the line that females have. (that sentence is wrong somehow but I'm not a native speaker so can't figure out what)
- Can't believe that I would say this, but it was too long! It was too long for the plot. The main plot didn't justified such a long story.
- I hated, Hated, HATED the going back and forth in time. It was confusing in the beginning and annoying in the end. It also wasn't needed after a certain point.
This is the main reason why I didn't liked this book. It's not that I don't like flashbacks (or whatever it's called here, I mean she had different types of flashbacks) but it has to have a place. And it should always be clear that it's starting.
