I confess I haven't read The Poky Little Puppy, but since it's a classic, I was expecting to really like the illustrations at least. Instead, they're just servicable in this story about the poky little puppy befriending a skunk who has lost his home. I guess the author and illustrator are different here from the original. The message of the story, that the best presents are the ones you give, is pretty trite, but originality isn't something you generally expect from Christmas books~! This would be an adequate bedtime story during the Christmas season. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

This book was a sweet little story featuring The Poky Little Puppy demonstrating the real spirit of Christmas. We see the cheeky antics of The Poky Little Puppy in that he was easily distracted by things going on around him and then lagging behind the rest of the group because of it. The distraction for Poky this time was a little skunk, called Herman, who was the victim of humans cutting down a Christmas tree which fell onto Herman’s home, a hollow log. Poky found an old rubber boot which he gave to Herman as an alternative home to his now smashed log.
This is a wonderful story for everybody, old and young alike. ( )
