“Making the Grade” - Eli was Kenny’s teacher in high school, and Kenny had a crush on him. He’s now grown and teaching gym at the same school – and still has that crush. However, past tragedies caused Eli to lock himself away; can Kenny break him out of his shell? I enjoyed this story despite the two protagonists once again having a large age gap (I am seriously tiring of that dynamic) because the age difference was not the primary cause of tension. However, neither man is fully developed as previous couples were. We never get to know Eli, and Kenny is one-dimensional. Still, a worthwhile read. 3 stars
“To Serve & Protect” – I was really looking forward to this story as it finally gives Ethan his chance at romance. This romance has a threesome, but with a slight twist. Sherriff Deputies Brian and Pete are attracted to each other, but they spend a lot of time arguing about who will “top.” Ethan is being stalked by someone, while also trying to keep randy bar customers at bay. Pete and Brian want to protect him, but they may just steal his heart. I loved this story. Lynn really gets into each man’s head, the relationship has several obstacles that have to be overcome (Brian’s teen son, the stalker, doubt about one of the three being left out, etc.) and the sex was hot. 4.5 stars. Overall, another solid entry to the CV saga. ( )
