The Rainbow Fish is a wonderful tale that teaches young students the lesson of sharing and having friendships. The story follows the most beautiful fish with shiny scales that does not want to share his scales and beauty with the other fish and has no friends and is extremely lonely. He ends up sharing his scales with the other fish, and has one left for himself. He has many new friends though, and is no longer lonely. This is a classic traditional literature book, and has been read to millions of kids over the years. This book has had an influence on millions of kids also teaching them how not to be greedy and share with others. ( )

The Rainbow fish is a classic children's picture book. The illustrations are beautiful and glistening that will draw readers into the story. The Rainbow Fish is a simple story about a fish who has to learn to make friends by sharing his most prized posessions. In the classroom I would use this book to teach cause and effect. ( )

This book is about a fish with beautiful scales in the beginning he does not want to share any of his scales with the other fish who admire him. The fish finds himself in a lonely and confused place even though he is beautiful he is missing something. The fish then discovers he can other fish happy by sharing his beautiful scales. In the end he only has one beautiful scale remaining, but he is surrounded by friends and now they all share the beauty. This book is a great lesson for kids in teaching them about friendship and sharing. It shows them that even when it looks like you have everything it can still be lonely. ( )

This book is geared towards younger children.

This book highlights a fish with special sparkly gills. The fish is very proud of its unique gills until the other fish begin making fun of the special gills. This book teaches about how friends can lift others up and bring out their special qualities.

I would use this book to teach about friendship and sharing with others. It can also be used to show how to always be kind. ( )

Summary: The Rainbow fish is a book about a very beautiful and shimmering fish who finds happiness by sharing his scales with the other fish.

Personal Reaction: This book is a very good book. Its morals are genuine and it not only teaches kindness but also acceptance. It also teaches how to value being yourself. I really liked this book and the pictures. It is a easy to read picture book.

Classroom Extension: It would be fun to have children make their own storybook telling/showing how they can be kind to someone.
