This tradictional literature is the pennicle of children's books. This story is about a fish who has the most beautiful scales in the whole ocean. Every fish longs to look as pretty as rainbow fish. Readers get to witness the beauty of rainbow fish and his transformation both inside and outside. This childhood classic delievers multiple life lessons such as: sharing, admiration, and internal/external beauty. ( )

book about a unique fish with shimmering scales. Other fish admire him and request some of his scales because they want to share in his beauty. At first reluctant, Rainbow Fish eventually relents and finds he enjoys sharing his scales. Pencil, watercolor, holographic foil are used for the illustrations. The book is super colorful and rainbow fishes scales are beautiful. ( )

Illustrations - Abstract

The Rainbow Fish is about a fish who is very colorful unlike many of the other fish around him. It shows his adventures being the only fish of his kind.

The Rainbow Fish is a great example of abstract art because is has many different elements which is fun and interesting for kids. I also like this book because it displays individuality and that being like everyone else isn't fun.

Rainbow fish is about this fish who’s scales are so beautiful. Everyone in the ocean admires his scales. All the other fish are constantly asking him to share his scales. At first the fish says no, but slowly realizes that he should want to share and want others to receive the same beauty and admiration as he gets. ( )

Summary: The Rainbow fish is a book about a very beautiful and shimmering fish who finds happiness by sharing his scales with the other fish.

Personal Reaction: This book is a very good book. Its morals are genuine and it not only teaches kindness but also acceptance. It also teaches how to value being yourself. I really liked this book and the pictures. It is a easy to read picture book.

Classroom Extension: It would be fun to have children make their own storybook telling/showing how they can be kind to someone.
