This was an amazing book. It was about the love affair that the author had with John Kennedy, JR. Her writing was so beautiful and so full of imagery that I felt like I could actually see what she was describing. It was a very touching and moving book and the end made me cry. As I was reading about her response and emotions about his death I knew that it had impacted her in ways that I could never even begin to imagine. She was closer to him than many people in his life and was his best friend for almost all of his life. I could feel her emotional response to learning he had gotten married to someone else and learning about his death. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I LOVE the Kennedy's and am so fascinated by their lives and what it was like to be a Kennedy so I knew I had to read this book when I found out about it and I am so glad I did because it was well worth it.

Self-serving (no surprise there) but surprisingly well-written, particularly the end, which I'd rather dreaded. Very similar in tone to What Remains (2006), and written after (2011). ( )

Not so much a tell-all as it is a loving memorial to a friend. I didn't learn much more about JFK Jr. than had been reported in the press, and some of the descriptive prose veers to awkward ("the pale color of the sky reflects back the sheer measure of your soul"). Pass on this unrevealing work unless you are totally into all things Kennedy. ( )

I read this book for a different purpose and was surprised I found it a pretty good read overall. Typical of the twists and turns that any relationship takes in its course. Christina Haag gives us not only a character perspective of the man we all knew as John-John, but also how two people struggle to define themselves in a relationship. And not just any relationship but one that balances celebrity with personal goals and ambitions in the glare of the public eye. And at times gives a glimpse of the adventurous nature of the man that took him to the edge. ( )

Yes, I read this. A girl has to have a little fluff in her life. ( )

"Lyrically and precisely captures the frenetic ecstasy of early love."--

Ms Haag was profoundly sensitive to this complex young man...With her, we enter the strange world of the Kennedys, with various family compounds from Palm Beach to Hyannisport...The overall impression of COME TO THE EDGE is sadness at the path not taken by a still young man who might yet be with us.'Johnny, we hardly knew ye' indeed, but Christina did, and thanks to her, now we do a little more."

"COME TO THE EDGE is the exceeding rare "kiss and tell" book that is much more about the kiss than the tell. [A] passionate memoir...written with extraordinary delicacy and restraint."

"A tender tale. Vivid...moving...romantic."
