Two girls are entering middle school. Lydia and Julie have always been best friends. They focus on learning about popularity before heading to school. Unfortunately, Lydia is moving to London for 6 months. Now the girls face middle school on their own. They keep in touch and discuss their troubles, bullies, and standing up for themselves at school. They do this in their journals and lists to one another, until Lydia gets back home. The moral of the story is that friendships can last even when you're apart from one another. This is a good book for students who are in middle school to read. It teaches them about the "bullies" and "popular kids" in school. It also helps students who are, or have a friend, moving. It teaches students that even if one of their friends are moving, they can continue to keep in touch and be friends. This is done through their notebook. The book is written in this form, through lists, pictures, and journaling. ( )

An installment of the wildly popular "Popularity Papers" series which includes a character (Julie) with two gay dads.

Just as funny as the first book, this volume follows the tribulations of Julie and Lydia as Lydia moves to England with her family for 6 months. Long-distance friendship is not easy!

I'm just really enjoying this series. :) ( )
