I think I'm just not much of a [a:Richard Sala|224666|Richard Sala|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1416201709p2/224666.jpg] fan. [b:Peculia|808944|Peculia|Richard Sala|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1348273466s/808944.jpg|794885] seems to me to be more of a niche read; it's a well-done book but hard to enjoy if it's not your niche. I didn't enjoy/appreciate the way women were depicted throughout the book, either. ( ) As seems to be typical with Richard Sala's work, Peculia follows an idiosyncratic logic that is both baffling and entertaining, and invokes a very unique sense of humor, horror, and noir all at the same time. Although I am still in the process of really warming to Sala's work, his draftsmanship is exquisite (especially when he draws partially-clothed women!), and if his plot lines and dialog are a little sketchy at times, it still all seems to work in service of the wonderfully stylistic drawings that make Sala's work instantly recognizable in any context. By the end of this volume, I was totally enthralled by this charming group of misfits, both villainous and heroic. http://sycoraxpine.blogspot.com/2006/06/more-graphic-novelishness.html ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
