The conclusion of the Alex Rider series. Scorpia, reeling from two devastating failures caused by Alex, is hired by a dying Greek multibillionaire to have the Elgin marbles (of British Museum fame) returned to their rightful country. MI-6 is manipulated into sending Alex and Jack Starbright to Egypt to infiltrate an international school, where it believes a kidnapping or hostage situation is imminent. Meanwhile, Alex is being set-up to take the blame of the assasination of the U.S. Secretary of State by his lookalike Julius Grief, who is sprung from a maximum security prison. Fast times, and one very surprising development along the way. ( )

Final book in the Alex Rider oeuvre: his story, and boyhood, come to conclusions. Same enjoyable formula as before: dramatic, nay cinematic settings, no digression, adventure and thrills, striking locations. Without the philandering and the self-ironising, but otherwise like James Bond; indeed the author acknowledges this series as an Ian Fleming homage. And just as with Bond, the well-resourced foes, calm but brittle, more painstaking than impulsive, eventually over play their hands. ( )

This was a great book. It was a interesting ending to the Alex Rider series. It was action packed and full of excitement and twists and turns I never knew what was going to happen next. It was great seeing Alex develop throughout the series and I loved all the great inventions and plans he thought up to get out of tough spots. This book also had a touch of sadness in it when Jack died, i could really feel Alex's pain and It kinda bummed me out. Overall this is a great book and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good action packed adventure. ( )

This is the ninth and final novel in the Alex rider series. I think this was by far the best one. I think it was the best because it is much more serious in tone and the author, Anthony Horowitz has become a better writer as the series progressed. I like how the whole story comes togther and old characters from past books come back into this one. Another good thing about this book is that it is long enough to be enjoyable but not too long that it becomes boring. The best thing in my opinon about this book is that the end of the book really makes the series come full circle and leaves you with little to no questions. I would reccomend this book to anyone that is a fan of the series and read the first 8 books. You won't regret reading this book.
