The first twelve mysteries in the celebrated series about four orphaned siblings who will do anything to stick together.
The Alden childrenâ??Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Bennyâ??are on their own. Brave and resourceful, they find a rusty, abandoned railroad boxcar in the woods, make it their home, and start a life of adventure.
Since its debut, the Boxcar Children Mysteries has been one of the most beloved and popular children's collections of all time, and the first of the series was named one of the top 100 children's novels by School Library Journal. This set includes the first twelve classic stories, following the Alden kids as they get to know their estranged grandfather, face down trouble, solve mysteries, and strengthen an unbreakable bond. Book One-The children loved this book and stayed interested throughout. It is a lower grade level book, so younger children understood it, while older children enjoyed it.

Since I can remember I have always been a fan of how well the Boxcar Children Series kept me reading. Each book has a good coverage of plot, setting, characters and lots of adventure. Children of 1st grade and up would love to either read to themselves or be read too.

Good for young children, simple but children will enjoy the adventures. ( )

I liked the story, the copies I read though looked as though they had been read quite a lot which is good. ( )

My son loves reading The Boxcar Children, just as I did when I was his age. Anything that keeps kids reading is wonderful. ( )
