Three different books that had to do with time. The premise of each was quite interesting:
Eternity in death which was about a guy who believed he was a vampire
Ritual in death which was about ?
Missing in death which was about an assassin who was killed by someone as payback. Missing because the body was not at the scene. ( )

A collection of three novels in the In Death series. ( )

This is a collection of 3 novellas and all 3 apparently take place between other books in the series. (I haven't necessarily read the series in order so that may factor in to some of my issues.)

I think it's hard to get everything readers expect from an "In Death" story into a novella length. It just all seems a bit rushed.

The first two made me wonder if they'd been written for a Halloween release since the first deals with vampire themes and the second with the occult. The third dealt more with a "how did he do that in full view of all those people" theme which I guess could be threaded as magic or misdirection if it needed to fit into a Halloween theme. ( )

I think of the three stories, I had already read one -- Rituals in Death, which I liked the least. The other two I liked more and didn't remember them well. I liked Missing in Death the most, partly because of the Staten Island ferry setting and also because it had a very surprising ending. Eternity in Death was good and also thought I might have read it. ( )

This is a book that contains three of J.D. Robb's "In Death" books. I picked it up for "Eternity In Death" as I had already read the other two. I am always amazed how she can get so much story in so few pages. Not only does Eve Dallas and her team have to solve a fairly gruesome murder but she has to deal with vampires. Of course our gal is up for the challenge. ( )
