Used in Storytime 3/30/17 - The Letter J ( ) This is a written form of the "If You're Happy and You Know It" song. In fact, I dare you to read this book without the song going on in your head! Lol The illustrations are amazing and any child will be excited to do the movements. The only warning is: there are 10 different movements so if you're doing this in a preschool classroom it's going to take a while! It gets a bit redundant. :) But it's a wonderful picture book following the song with simple vocabulary and fun, simple movements that mimic the animals showcased on each page. This cute colorful book plays along with the "If you're happy and you know it" song. It has great pictures that are colorful! This is a great predictable book that the children can follow along with and even read some on their own! The book also engages activity. http://biography.jrank.org/pages/674/Cabrera-Jane-1968.html this really isnt a good website but one of the only ones I could find. It just gives a list of her books, which granted are great! From School Library Journal PreSchool-K–In Cabrera's version of the popular children's song, various animals demonstrate the motions for the many verses. Monkey claps his hands, elephant stamps his feet, while giraffe nods his head. Concluding pages have a Hollywood Square montage of all nine animals who all cry at once "If you're happy and you know it, shout…We are!" Cheerful painterly pictures in a kaleidoscope of colors enhance the jovial mood of the song. Appearance of brush strokes gives texture to the animals, and the large black font is easy to read. This book will be an enjoyable storytime filler for those libraries not already owning Jan Ormerod's If You're Happy and You Know It (Star Bright, 2003).–Blair Christolon, Prince William Public Library System, Manassas, VA ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
