His "big reveal" was way too obvious from the first part of the book making his main character look too stupid not to be able to see it. Top that off with being too overly descriptive and dialogue which didn't ring true and you have a mess of a book. Oddly, several times the author threw in some right leaning political jabs which were "off-putting", since no character had been described as having those views. Needless to say, I want be reading another "Streeter" novel. ( ) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

"If armed robbery was easy, everyone'd be doing it", Richie Moats reminds himself as he tries the big deed himself in the opening scene of Token of Remorse. And, in fact, Richie quickly finds it's too tough for him when he blows his cover - not to mention his lunch - while stealing the weekly take from a string of sex shops. He and Tina, his drop-dead girlfriend, had it all figured, but, see, it turns out sex kings don't take robbery lying down. So in this third walk on the wild side with Streeter, Denver's finest - and I do mean finest - private eye, it's the local waterbed tycoon, Richie's uncle, giving him the call when the lovebirds disappear. Once again, Streeter tangles with the nasty, the sultry, and the dimwitted as only he knows how, chasing a case where the professional becomes personal when his past blasts smack into the middle of it.
