NCLA Review - This book is a gem. It includes stories, hymns, poems, recipes, Christmas memories, crafts, and gift-giving ideas. Beginning with December 1 and ending with December 24, the reader is taken on a journey of longstanding traditions and introduced to some new ones along the way. The family could use this as an advent countdown or an individual could read a chapter each day. Another way to approach this book is through the excellent index. It is divided into: Crafts and Decorations; Dinners, which gives menus from around the world; Gifts; Memories, Letters and Reflections; Poems; Quotations, listed by author; Recipes; Scriptures; Songs, Carols, and Hymns; Stories; and Trivia and Humor. The book culminates with the birth of the Savior as told in Luke’s gospel. The attractiveness, with borders and decorations in muted red and green, adds to its appeal. Rating 4: —AMB ( )

This book is a beautiful book worth having IN your library. NOT as an e-book! When it comes to e-books, I think it a shame that someone would choose this beautiful keeper book in that way instead of 'the real thing'. The dustcover alone is beautiful, without the dustcover it is a light beige with the title and publisher's name embossed in silver making it just gorgeous. Along with being a gorgeous collection of everything Christmas you could possibly think of, from poems made into Christmas songs to christmas stories, to Christmas traditions from around the world, recipes,
Christmas Carols, short stories, and many more, it is a beautiful book startng right from the cover right to the end. This is a book I am proud and happy to own and will put it out every holiday season, read it every holiday season, and share it with my family and friends.. ( )

"Everything Christmas" is a wonderful hardbound book just packed with ideas and facts about Christmas. The pages are white with red and green print and graphics giving the book a lovely Christmas "feel".

Based on the advent calendar, the sections are the 24 days before Christmas, and each focuses on a different country and how Christmas is celebrated there. Each section contains a story, recipes, facts, carols, and so much more! I had a wonderful time going through this book and the recipes (Christmas Wassil, Gingersnaps and Christmas Breakfast Casserole) I tried were delicious. There are a number that I still want to try this holiday season.

This is a fantastic book to add to your Christmas collection. It is one that will be used year after year and one the whole family will enjoy. ( )
