Once again, Ian Rutledge is a wonder. ( ) Rutledge is sent to solve the murders, by garrote of several WW1 veterans from a quiet village in Suffolk. Identity tags left in the mouths of the victims are indicative of a strong link to their military service in France. But is that their only connection. For a countervailing distraction, he is also trying to resolve an earlier crime involving an ancient flint knife. Personal angst and political manipulation distract but never deter the inspector in his search for the perpetrator. Yet another fine Ian Rutherford historical mystery [post-WWI] police procedural. This seemed to me more complex than others, which is not a criticism other than I did have to back up the audio tape every now and then! Fortunately the tape's creators anticipate that & it's easy to do. This story had to do with a group of men who apparently are targeted for death in a small town & the race to prevent the killer from striking again. Lots of twists, turns and character development. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
