We meet people that the reader can really enjoy spending some time with. Tate and Brian and his aunt and even Virginia are all really likeable and Amy Lane has made them interesting characters. From the first time I saw the cover I wanted to know the story behind Tate's ink work. On some level, Talker is just another romance, but the situation is unique enough for us to see that there are commonalities that allow us all to empathize. At only 96 pages, it's more of a novella than a novel, but it is 96 pages with so much heart. Tate and Brian are both fragile individuals and they both have a weakness that becomes the other's strengths making their story an awesome read. My actual raring was 4.5 stars. Probably would have gotten 5 if the story had been longer. Brian Cooper isn't one to draw attention to himself. So there's something about Tate "Talker" Walker that intrigues him because he seems to always stand out. Brian knows there must be more to Tate than what people see when they look at him--his punk look with his facial tattoos and wild hair--but he's not entirely sure what it might be. As he makes an effort to peel back the layers of his new friend, however, he needs to be prepared to confront what he will learn about himself in the process. This is a quick read, but there's a lot that goes on here. Things move at a steady pace, but the development of the relationship is raw and real. Be prepared to go on a journey with these guys... ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Book One of the Talker series Tate "Talker" Walker has spent most of his life hiding his scars under a bright punk facade, and until he sat next to Brian Cooper on a bus, it worked. But Brian has spent his whole life being the invisible man, and he's used to looking below the surface. What he sees in Talker is a fragile and lovable human being. Brian is outwardly straight, but Talker is desperate for love, and when Talker's behavior leads to some painful consequences, Brian is forced to come out of his closet--in dramatic fashion. He'll do anything to make sure Talker sees that he's the Prince Charming Talker has always needed. No library descriptions found. |
